King Rules by Alveda King

When I thought of downloading and reviewing this book, I thought I was going to be getting a lot of business insights and tips on how to make wealth and prosper. I thought that by the end of the book, I would have gotten to practice a lot of tips and made some money. My thoughts have remained as only thoughts.

I was initially disappointed when I began reading the book, it didn’t seem to unfold what the cover had presented. But I read on anyway, out of discipline. There were some good stories about the King’s family and the values that they embraced. Some of these values are such as human compassion, dignity, and agape love to all human beings while embracing a biblical worldview for life, love, marriage, and family.

The author also offers some rules for living, such as the following: making home a priority, serving one’s family, getting a good education, guard one’s heart and caring for the needy.

While those are good values, it is my thinking that if the author intended to write a biography of Martin Luther King’s life and family, she should have chosen a different title, one that would not misrepresent or contradict what is portrayed on the cover. This was my first let-down in a long, long time.
