Do you ever wonder why some people achieve their goals, and why some of yours don’t work? Why at the end of the year you are at the same point in some of the things you’d wanted to do?
Recently, a friend of mine pointed out that sometimes what we need in life, is a change in our daily routine. And as we were having yet another discussion, we saw that in a year’s time, we would all be at the exact same point, unless we made some changes. Unless we made changes concerning our finances, relationships, education, etc, we would be at the exact same place 365 days later.
That’s why a change in our daily routine is important. Because a new activity would start us off in a different direction, on a different path, perhaps towards desirable goals. If we keep doing what we’ve always done, we’ll keep getting what we’ve always gotten.
The year is halfway gone, and many of us had set some goals that we wanted to achieve by the end of 2014. I had some things on my mind, and thankfully, God has granted me many of them. However, there are still quite a number that I am yet to achieve.
As the second half of this year begins, I am purposing to do some things differently. I am actively seeking and following mentorship in certain desired areas. I am narrowing down my Google searches and following up on specific leads. I am talking to certain people and making definite decisions and commitments. I am setting shorter goals towards the achievement of the greater goals. And I am engaging in daily activities that are in the big picture of my life. I am changing my daily routine, that’s what I’m doing, and I can already see some good progress.
I wish you success as you endeavour to make little changes in your life, in the core areas, and watch them positively influence the larger aspects of your life….just like the small rudder in the ship controls the whole, great, big ship.
