Almost done…

I’ve had a certain project that I’ve been working on for a couple of months now. When I structured my plan at the year’s start, the plan seemed easy to accomplish in less than three months. Well, I’ve just about tripled that time…
I was very energized in the beginning, energized by the thought of the work I had to do. I looked forward to each session with zeal and zest, and often times quit working because I was indeed very exhausted.
As time went on, however, I realized that I could do it after all. I had the ability, you know, and could easily catch up if missed out on a day or two. You know what happens when a discipline pattern is broken. Backlog sets in. discouragement too. And you are more tired by the thought of what you have yet to do, than what else on the side you are trying to do to cover for that (if only to soothe your feelings.)
Over the past few weeks, I have made a conscious, deliberate and dedicated effort to complete my project. I am only one step away. Despite the hurdles I’ve had to jump on the way, I couldn’t be more energized and content than now. And grateful for the lessons. Or maybe I will speechlessly be, when I take this next, last, step.
