The Orange…it does
I saw an orange on the road, wondered why it was there. It didn’t take long to notice it’d fallen from the elderly lady’s bag. She however couldn’t get it right then, as she was still trying to collect those which were near her. Then the vehicles began to come, eventually the inevitable happened. The poor orange was crushed into an ugly mess, that nobody wanted to look at.
I thought about how well it would have been had the orange stayed in its place. It would have continued to be well appreciated by its owner, well taken care of,would have eventually served its purpose at its time, very well as well. However, because of falling outrunning away, we place ourselves in situations where, yes, everybody can see uswe are “stars” for a little while. But we get crushed so fastthere goes our lifespan, unappreciatedunnoticed in ways that really matter, like the great diner who’d say, the orange tasted great.
Let’s choose to stick with the master, it pays higher dividends in the long run, I think.
