Cover-ups

Rinsing the tea-cup that’d been used for breakfast that day, I noticed I was taking longer than usual, and the cup still had an oily feel. I increased the volume and pressure of water, and the vigor of my rinse, but to no avail. I had to wash the cup again, with lots of detergent; slowly carefully and thoroughly, before I could easily rinse it and have a great feel.
Somehow like our lives. If the “washing” part was poorly done, the rinsing part will not take care of the cleanliness and shine. It has to be done right from the start, and no amount of vigor or rinsing water will cover the oil up or remove it….the soap has a role to play, and in its time, let’s allow it to work.
